Kitty Sabatier

Kitty was born in 1959 in Toulouse. She graduated in Fine Arts in Toulouse and worked for several years for "l'Edition et la Communication" as a freelancer in Paris (graphics, calligraphy, lettering, logos).
Back in Toulouse she opened a workshop where she gives classes in addition to teaching in various art schools (Polycrea, Studio M, Axe sud).

In parallel, she continues her personal work that revolves around the multiform line.
She exhibits both in galleries and in public institutions throughout France, especially Paris, but also exhibits in European countries, the latest being the Correr Museum in Venice.

Her background in calligraphy can be seen in her drawings, both abstract and figurative, through the importance of the stroke of the pen and brush. The shadows are hinted at by the strength of the wide black line; the light is expressed by a thinner aerian line. In the drawings of nudes, Kitty also uses blocks of colour to frame the models.
Her style is minimalist but precise and determined. There is no margin for error.

Marks and droplets also have an important role in her works. She plays and creates images that emerge from them.
